Another Hollywood legend has passed on in 2016. It’s a year that hasn’t been kind to celebrities at all, and may go down in history as one of the worst years of all time for celebrity deaths.

According to reports, Oscar winner George Kennedy has died of a heart ailment at the assisted living facility he was residing at in Middleton, Idaho.

Kennedy won an Oscar for best supporting actor for his portrayal of Dragline in Cool Hand Luke in 1968. He also won a Laurel Award and Golden Globe for the role.

Kennedy was married four times. He married his first wife, Dorothy Gillooly, in the 1940s. He was then married and divorced twice from Norma Wurman, also known as Revel Wurman, with whom he had two children. In 1978, he married Joan McCarthy, who died in September 2015. The couple adopted four children, including granddaughter Taylor, whose mother, one of their children, had drug-abuse issues, according to Wikipedia.

His first role was that of a Roman soldier in Spartacus. His final role was 2014’s The Gambler in the role of Ed. His first television role was on The Phil Silvers show as MP Sergeant Kennedy. His final television role was on The Young and The Restless in 2010 in the role of Albert Miller.
