Banks District Volunteer Fire Department Public Information Officer David D. Taylor released the following statement vis the department’s Facebook page announcing his retirement as PIO.
As this week ends, so does my time spent serving as the official spokesperson of the Banks District Volunteer Fire Department. I have served in this capacity since early 2014, and have enjoyed working with each of you throughout the central West Virginia media market and the members of this community.
I am very proud of the professional accomplishments made as the department worked together with the local media to keep the citizens in our community timely informed of events occurring in their back yard and to proudly promote the pride and dedication of the men and women volunteering in the local fire service over the past 3 1/2 years.
It’s now time to move on and to officially enjoy retirement …. again … which was the path I actually started out on back in 2012, before becoming involved with the VFD.
“Thank you” everyone for working with me since our department made the commitment to work in partnership with the media.
Maybe one day again our paths can cross. It’s been a great ride, one I will cherish and remember.
