Fletcher Ernest Cosner, age 74, of Weston, WV died Sunday, November 26, 2017 at Bridgeport Health Care Center in Bridgeport, WV.

He was born December 26, 1942 in Baltimore, MD, a son of the late Fletcher Vernon and Isabella Jeffries Cosner. He is survived by two sons, Christopher Cosner and wife Carla of Buckhannon, WV and Franklin Cosner and wife Carolyn of Fairmont, WV; two granddaughters, Kristen and Kylie Cosner both of Buckhannon; two brothers, Bob and Jimmy Cosner both of Weston and several nieces and nephews. Mr. Cosner was a painter.

Friends will be received Saturday, December 2, 2017 from 11 AM – 1 PM at the Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held 1 PM Saturday at the funeral home with the Rev. J. Edward McDaniels officiating.

Michael Charles DeBarr, 57, of Town Run Rd. Weston passed away at 3:48 p.m. on Saturday, November 25, 2017 in the United Hospital Center in Bridgeport following an extended illness.

He was born in Huntington on March 29, 1960 a son of the late James Carlton DeBarr Sr. and Betty Louise Smith Bennett.

He is survived by five siblings: James DeBarr Jr. and companion Janice Baker, of Bentonville, VA, Paul DeBarr and wife, Annette of Clarksburg, Bob DeBarr and wife, Debbie, of Lancaster, PA, Marchel Hunley of Panama City, FL, Rojetta Presgrave of Front Royal, VA; 15 nieces and nephews; and 16 great nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by one nephew, Jeremy DeBarr.

Mike worked as a carpenter most of his life and he enjoyed hunting, fishing, and socializing with his friends.

Mike’s request for cremation has been honored and his family will have a private Celebration of Life Service at a later date. Expressions of sympathy may be sent directly to his family.

George Rufus McCoy, Jr., 89, of (Pricetown community) Weston passed away on Saturday, November 25, 2017 in Nellas Nursing Home of Elkins following an extended illness. He was born in Weston on March 19, 1928: son of the late George Rufus McCoy, Sr. and Mary Virginia (Stalnaker) McCoy. On March 10, 1957, he married June Ellanore (Dunlap) McCoy, who survives.
Mr. McCoy is also survived by one sister: Elsie Regina “Betty Jo” Dunlap of McDonald, OH, one niece: Connie S. Rogers, two nephews: Randall L. McCoy and Michael Wayne Dunlap and several great nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, George was preceded in death by one great nephew: Adrian Keith Rogers.
Mr. McCoy was a retired glassworker He started his working career at 16 years old at Pennsboro Glass and later worked at McCoy Glass Factory, Colonial Glass and retired from Princess House in Weston. He was a member of the Hacker’s Creek Pioneer Descendants and the National Rifle Association. He was a veteran of the United States Army serving in the Korean Conflict.
Family and friends will be received at the Hardman-Paletti Funeral Home 730 N. Main Avenue Weston on Wednesday, November 29, 2017 from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday at 1 p.m. from the Hardman-Paletti Funeral Home chapel with Reverend Russell Furr officiating. Interment will follow services in Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens of Jane Lew, WV. Full military honors will be conducted by the United States Army and the Lewis County Honor Guard. Mavadell Williams McDivitt, 77, of Summersville passed away Sunday, November 26, 2017 at her residence.

She was born August 8, 1940 in Centralia, WV the daughter of the late Murl & Aretta Smith Williams. Also preceding her in death are sisters, twin, Clara Bell, Virginia Pullen, Leona Malcomb , Charlotte Demastus, Edith Garrison, Eloise Workman; brothers, Ed Williams, Delbert Williams, Paul Williams; son-in-law, Randal “Bones” Bennett.

Mavadell is survived by her husband of 55 years, Walter McDivitt; son, Robert McDivitt (Brandy McClaughlin) of Birch River; daughters, Loretta Bailey (Jack) of Sutton, Brenda Huffman of Cross Lanes, Connie Bennett of Birch River, Dixie McDivitt (Ted Shaver) of Birch River, Ruby Ward (Billy) of Dixie, Vicki McDivitt (Kevin Sawyers) of Summersville; grandchildren, Brandon Huffman (Rachel) of Hurricane, Tiffani Huffman of Cross Lanes, Jason Bennett of Birch River, Adam Oney of Sutton, Mark Shaver of Birch River, Sawyer Frame of Summersville, Angel McDivitt of Clay; great-grandchildren, Seith Oney, Haley Oney, Kasen Shaver; extended family members, Tim Huffman of Exchange, Teresa McDivitt of Clay, Amanda Amick Oney, Billy Frame of Birch River, Marlyin Woods (Alvin) of Duck, John Jay Sergant of Washington DC, Larry “Clarksburg” Westfall; special neighbors, Gary & Ginger Davis of Summersville.

Funeral services will be held 7 p.m. Wednesday, November 29, 2017 at Greene-Robertson Funeral Home, Sutton with Rev. Renee Hall officiating. Friends may call two hours before the service at the funeral.

Robert Franklin Coleman, born July 17, 1955 in Fayette County, WV, he went to be with the Lord on November 26, 2017 in Morgantown, WV after a long battle with cancer. A son of Herbert Coleman who survives of Alderson, WV and the late Sylvia Hicks Coleman.

On July 18, 2017 he married Diana Shaffer who survives. Also surviving is one daughter, Vanessa Dunigen and husband Tommy of Clay County, WV; one step daughter, Missy Linger and husband Bill of Fairmont, WV; one granddaughter, Lillian Dunigen of Clay County; three sisters, Mary Ann Young and husband Jack of Pensacola, FL, Linda Gray and husband Buck of Alderson and Wanda Kelley of FL; one brother, William “Willie” Coleman of Alderson; mother-in-law, Ava Shaffer of Volga, WV; four brothers-in-law, Bill Gray of Alderson, Richard Shaffer and companion Cheryl Kilmer of Volga, Dale Gus Shaffer of Volga and Timothy “Porky” Shaffer of Volga; one sister-in-law, Donna Champ and husband Benji of Belington, WV and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by one sister, Barbara Gray and one brother Elmer Coleman.

Mr. Coleman worked for Ray Brothers Drilling for 20 years. Barton and Oakwood Homes. He also worked for Bruce Hardwood Flooring in Beverly for three years. Started working for Aleris Rolled Products in Aug. 2007 as a Maintenance Tech until his passing.

He loved old cars, football, nascar races, spending time with his wife, family, friends, his puppy Princess and helping on the farm. Friends will be received Wednesday, November 29, 2017 from 2-7 PM at the Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home.

A funeral service will be held 11 AM Thursday at the funeral home with the Rev. William Lanham officiating. Burial will follow in the Mt. Vernon Memorial Cemetery in Philippi, WV.

Jowann S. Hill, 72, of Panama City, Florida, passed away Wednesday, November 15, 2017.

She was born March 9, 1945 a daughter of the late Stanley and Lena Sayre Smallridge.

On November 26, 1993, she married Col. Howard B. Hill and they shared 16 years until his passing on December 1, 2009.

Her inspiring and nurturing spirit will be carried on by one daughter, Thresa Shelton of Panama City, FL; two grandchildren: Sean Johnson and Breann Shelton, both of Panama City, FL; seven great grandchildren: Ethan, Tana, Isaiah, Scottie, Emsley, Farren, and Rhemi; two siblings: Terry Luikart and husband, Dave, of Nitro, WV, and Johnny Smallridge of Northport, AL; and five nieces and nephews: Shane Boggess, Stan Luikart, Stacy Jones, Craig Luikart, and Brandy Smallridge.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by one son, Brent Ray Kesling; one grandson, Michael Scott Chapman; and two siblings: Colleen Sue Boggess, and Ronnie Smallridge.

Jowann graduated from Buckhannon-Upshur High School in 1963. She was a member of the Tennerton Methodist Church and the Nitro Women of the Moose. She loved the outdoors, traveled extensively, and was always up for adventures. Her patriotism was beyond compare with her support of many Veteran organizations. She enjoyed gardening and always kept her yard in pristine condition.

Family and Friends visitation was held on Tuesday, November 21, 2017, from 12:00-1:00 p.m., at Tomblyn-Clutter Funeral & Cremation. Funeral Services will follow with Reverend Donnie Skidmore officiating. Following the funeral, cremation will be honored and graveside interment wereheld Wednesday, November 22, 2017 at 10:00 a.m., in the Upshur County Memorial Park. Tomblyn-Clutter Funeral and Cremation was honored to serve the family of Jowann S. Hill.
