By Buddy the Tuxedo Cat
I’m new at this so bear with me should I ramble a bit in these first few articles. I sure appreciate your understanding.
I was living in a feral colony with 30 other cats when we were taken away from our caretaker because a new business came into the complex where we lived and didn’t want us there.
I was going to be euthanized because I wasn’t cuddly or friendly, but a kind human came along and adopted me. I repaid his kindness right off by sinking my teeth and all claws into his hand and arm when he tried to pet me.
The lady at the shelter asked him if he still wanted me and much to her surprise he said yes. So I live in building all by myself a few days a week. The human is here four or five days a week. He’s okay. I don’t mind him much now. He tries awfully hard to be friends. I’m just not sure I’m interested in having friends. We’ll see how it goes.
I spend a lot of time sitting in the sun looking out the back window. Actually I spend more time sleeping in the sun in the back window. It’s toasty warm. Plus I can hide behind some boxes. I can’t really be seen much. I like that.
Whenever I want to know where the human is I just meow and he talks to me letting me know where he is located.
He feeds me and keeps my water dish full at all times. I like that aspect of having a human around. Having been on my own for a while and sometimes not knowing where the next meal was coming from I really enjoy being able to eat whenever I feel like it.
I also don’t have to worry about being in the rain. I can just watch it rain from the window. I think I like that better than being in the rain or trying to find a place to get out of the rain. It makes life a lot easier.
I did have a friend at the cat colony and I hope he is okay. I wonder about him and hope he found a place to live like I did. He probably did. He was a little nicer than me. He didn’t mind being held and that sort of thing.
I’ll do my best to keep you up to date on what’s happening with me. Feel free to share your thoughts or your human’s thoughts in the comment section below.
