The Obamas Struck Gold… Apparently Connections Count!!!

So how have the Obamas been fairing since leaving the White House? Well, compared to the rest of us pretty darn good. I mean really, really good. So good, in fact, many our wondering what they were doing in the months before they left the White House to strike such a fast fortune.

As president, as with any other president, Barack Obama’s base salary was $400,000 a year. He also had access to a $150,000 expense account as well as a $100,000 tax-free travel account and $20,000 entertainment budget. These are the basic perks for being elected president.

Now he makes $400,000 per speech, has a $65 million book deal and hangs out with the world’s most rich and elite. He’s a long way from that guy who was elected on a humble talking campaign of 2008.

“I did not run for office to be helping out a bunch of fat cat bankers on Wall Street,” Obama said in 2009 though he now courts those same fat cat bankers at $400,000 per engagement. What happened to 2009 Obama?

It seems he is no longer the common man we all thought he was but is more of a one percenter or an elitist jet setting around the globe on lavish vacations with his new found fame and rich friends while the rest of us are still eating day old bread and cheap lunch meat.

Truthfully, this is why so many people have left the Democrat Party in search of something better. Something more believable. It was the split in the Democrat party that allowed Donald J. Trump to be elected president of the United States.

Republicans are in unity while Democrats continue to in-fight and protest vote for third party candidates opening the door for Republicans to take control with much more ease than if Democrats actually all stood together behind one candidate.

It seems the future Democrats could take a few lessons from the current Republicans who are actually in power.
