Anti-same sex marriage advocate Kim Davis has lost her bid for reelection in an ironc twist to an old foe in Kentucky.
Davis, a Republican, was about 700 votes behind her Democratic opponent Elwood Caudill Jr. in her bid for a second term as Rowan County clerk, according to reports.
In the Democratic primary, Caudill Jr. beat David Ermold, the man whom Davis had refused to grant a same-sex marriage license.
The three times married Davis was jailed in 2015 for refusing to issue same sex-marriage licenses in 2015 citing religious beliefs.
Davis was a Democrat before switching her party affiliation shortly after she refused to issue same-sex marriage licenses.
